I had a great experience with Precision Garage Door today. It’s a Saturday so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I called for a service call. To my surprise they had same day availability later in the afternoon. To my delight technician Geoffrey Grouse called a short time later and said he was available earlier than expected. He was friendly, professional, efficient, and genuinely happy to help fix my garage door. He did a thorough inspection and offered several options for replacing parts and pointing out what could break in the future. The pricing was fair and the service was excellent. Called about a broken spring. Found out that the opener was the original for or house installed in 2002. Was still operating with some issues. Geoffrey our technician explained normal lifetime for an opener anywhere from 10 to 12 years. Since we far exceeded that we decided to replace it.

Precision was quick to respond. The Tech Geoffrey was courteous and professional. Just be aware there is an up sale to this. It’s not over the top, they claim they will never tell you what what to do, and it’s just a suggestion but the plot is there. I get it it’s business and was low pressure. They send you the info on your tech before they arrive for safely. The his is a great feature. They have the business portion down. Why I can’t give 5 stars!?? I was quoted over $1500 for replacing one torsion spring. Something told me not be fooled by the up front glamour. So I call another business for a quote. One told me NOT to pay that much it was not that expensive but they couldn’t get me an appointment for a week. So I called one more a smaller company referred by a friend. They were there with in the hour on a Friday at 6pm! No one xtra fee. The Tech was professional and kind but was a smaller business so maybe not all the bells and whistles. I just needed my garage door fixed for a reasonable. I don’t need anll the bells. Austin had it replaced in 45 min for $550 a 5yr warranty still included!!!! The tech looked at the other garage door to state I didn’t need to worry right now. If something happened just to give them a call. So no up selling. I feel like precision tried to take me for a financial ride. Thank goodness I have learned to be a little paranoid as a single female. Always be sure to get more than one quote.

I had a service technician out to evaluate and quote the job. The technician was nice enough, the cost was completely unreasonable. I paid around $145 for the technician to give me three quotes that were extremely high. After I paid the charge for the quote I contacted another local company (that gave me an estimate free of charge). To replace the springs I was quoted $1100, the second company replaced them 1.5 hours later for $535. I was quoted as high as $3600 for a repair to my springs and opener, I will not be doing business with Precision, nor would I recommend anyone else.
