He then performed an overall inspection of the garage door’s function, installed new light bulbs, and straightened a part that was slightly out of alignment, something I had not even noticed. It was a pleasure doing business with your company. First of all, when I called, I was able to get an appointment for the next day. Then I was glad to receive a text stating that the technician was on his was, along with a picture of the person to expect. Kevin was a true professional, listening to the problem and then figuring out what was needed. Unfortunately for me, my system was old and parts were no longer made, but he showed me the different options and was able to install the one I chose same day and by the time I had to leave to pick up the grandkids. This is no fault of the technician who came out and entirely on this company. If you are looking to get your garage serviced same day, this is the place for you. If you're looking to get bent over and taken in the rear, this is also the place for you. The pricing is outrageous and you are better using another company. The business model drives unnecessary profit. Here is what I imagine their business model is: have as many techs as you can in the field so that they are showing up same day, have the tech mention the company's "great 5-star reviews" to get the customer comfortable and confident, present 3 "options" to the customer with the "best" one being things they do not need or want, use key phrases like "better than our competitors" and "safety" to try and trick the customer into buying something they do not need. My call was solely to get a broken spring replaced. The experience calling and making an appointment was good; the rep was pleasant. I was able to make an appointment for a window of 12:00 to 2:00. 2:00 rolls around and nothing. I have to call the rep back and ask when the tech will be there. The tech calls me, and is very nice, and explains his current job is taking longer than expected. He showed up at around 3:35, so I would consider this very late, unacceptable and misleading. The rep did not tell me up front that the service call is $145.00. This should be explained when making an appointment in case customers do not want to use Precision for their services. The tech showed up and first thing he mentions is all their 5-star reviews. So now I know right off the bat, this is a sales pitch. The entire conversation that followed was a sales pitch designed to try and get the best profit. I was offered "good" "better" and "best" options. The best option was obviously things I did not need. The phrases "for your safety" were thrown out and yada, yada, yada. My "good" quote was $2,600 and included things like motor replacement and some other things I did not feel necessary. After some negotiating, the price went down to $1278 for new spring and cables then again to $1166. And then it went down some more to $1155. THE PRICE CHANGED 4 TIMES. What kind of business does this? If the customer is adamant they do not want to spend a lot of money, you shouldn't have to negotiate down this much. The invoice lists 2 springs and the cost for 1 is $465..... FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXY FIVE DOLLARS EACH. That is astronomical! Also the invoice listed the spring color as black and what was installed is green so I'm guessing the tech input the wrong part and I'm not even confident I was charged the correct amount. The green is not appealing and this is shady business practice. The tech did fine work, everything is functional. My invoice also lists a 3-year warranty and the sales pitch used the phrase "warrantied for a while" or "warrantied for lifetime" and "we're going to use better parts than our competitors and they last a long time." Okay, then why is this only warrantied for 3 years? The 3 year warranty was not told to me up front. The tech of course mentioned giving a review. I was honest with him and said it was no fault of his own but I was not satisfied with the pricing. He understood and said maybe I shouldn't leave a review at all. He also mentioned if I left a 5-star review he would get a bonus. The audacity. If I could do it all over, I would have turned down service, paid the ridiculous $145 service call fee and used another company. I will never use this company again and will adamantly tell others not to do the same. Waste of money and not satisfied.

My garage door opener surprised me when it stopped working altogether. I was also surprised at the extremely prompt service I received after calling Precision! I am not a mechicanically inclined person; I am an older citizen who has a hard time knowing if I am being taken advantage of or not. I have not had to purchase a garage door opener for over 30 years. You can imagine the culture shock when I learned about the pricing change that has occurred in those 30 years. Thank goodness for Seth Boyers (my technician.) He could see how confused I was. He eased my concerns and assured me that he wasn't in a hurry, he would not move forward until I was totally clear and confident, and that he was going to walk me through the process/equipment until I felt that we were on the same team and he and Percision would be there for me whenever I needed help of any kind.Thank you, Seth and Percision.
